Lust Of The Flesh

The lust of the flesh is a great deal harder to formulate: but we continue on regardless. We may simply equate the senses to a machine, which when someone cranks the handle will check every possible combination of the various orderings of the five (or less) senses to see whether there is found a response for pleasure, or a response for pain.

This machine we will place in the timeline between the statements of the inverses of the "lust of the eyes" as prior. If at the end of the process the machine may have internally reordered itself, but is not broken - it still works then we assume that dopamine is released and the latter stage of the lust of the eyes, "It was a cake" and "I like cake!" follows in a manner as before and the synthesis of "do as thou wilt" again resumes.

This machine is a funny one, it doesnt respond the way most people would think it should. It has two gears, high and low: The one gear on "high" is such that the response is to let the machine run without any release of dopamine, and "low" with dopamine released on the basis that whether the machine came out with the result "will be nice" or "will be bad" the dopamine is still released.

The machine acts as as an amplifier of sorts, so that betwen the statements of the "lust of the eyes" timeline, the machine will increase the worth of the statement "tastes cake" as well as the statement "I like cake!", as well as decrease the negative worth of the statements "takes cake" and "it was a cake".

The result is that the machine works in the fashion that when the machine is on high gear the mind will merely be tempted, and whilst on low gear the machine will attempt to "seduce" the sinner with dopamine into eating someone elses cake.

If one were to imagine this machine full of gears, on low gear half of the cogs are used and on high gear all the ocgs are used. On low gear the machine is capable of doing all the function of the high gear, but at a greater cost of dopamine: such is the case that the mind becomes less capable of recreating the dopamine to supply the low gear (after a while) and so automatically works on high gear with what has become familiar to the eater of cake.

The high gear runs with a lower use of dopamine, and is the norm; yet the low gear is fashioned to guide the lust of the eyes into pleasure and to avoid pain.

The internal workings are also important. The low gear's cogs that take up half the room will seem to justify the choice of any particular "lust of the eyes". No matter which of the senses are tested, the machine automatically detects the senses used and switches appropriately to a better internal set of "timings". A reversal of "see-taste" as with our cake might become "touch-smell" if one likes garden rosemary for example;

The machine can adjust its timings appropriately so that every possible combination of the senses may run to the eventual preservation of the "synthesis" that "it was a cake" and "I like cake" is all the justification someone ever needs: How do they know they like cake? Because the machine has reinforced that they do from the very first moment they tried cake.

The machine is very easy to confuse: elements of "lust of the eyes" must be wrapped about the machine so they unwind in reverse order as to how they were lined up before the machine in the timeline.

temp1 => tempt2 => tempt3 => machine => excuse 3 => excuse 2 => excuse 1.

(There are many more than four temptations and excuses if you are actually wondering.)

If the elements are not so wrapped in properly unwinding order, the timings of the machine get confused; the outcome is not necessarily pleasure; but may be such as so it prints out a message of requirement - it can ask for a "fix" of something else to rebalance the timings.

If you are interested there is a mathematical explanation of the machine in the metamath section. It is based on the simple subgroup A5 of S5. I compare it when factored down by the tempting "transposition" and wrapped in the same, followed by any such similar conjugation of any list of transpositions as inverses. That A5 is simple of degree five does the rest. It is fundamental to understanding the manner of "life" that the false prophet animates the image to the beast with. (See revelation).
