Interred To Be Devoured

The verses concerning the sealing of Daniel as in the den of lions are as follows;

-- Click To Expand/Collapse Bible Verses -- Dan ch6:v16-19
Dan 6:16 Then the king commanded, and they brought Daniel, and cast him into the den of lions. Now the king spake and said unto Daniel, Thy God whom thou servest continually, he will deliver thee.
Dan 6:17 And a stone was brought, and laid upon the mouth of the den; and the king sealed it with his own signet, and with the signet of his lords; that the purpose might not be changed concerning Daniel.
Dan 6:18 Then the king went to his palace, and passed the night fasting: neither were instruments of musick brought before him: and his sleep went from him.
Dan 6:19 Then the king arose very early in the morning, and went in haste unto the den of lions. (KJV)

Daniel's wisdom is the gift of the restrainer of God upon Daniel's knowledge. In providing the correct fixed position to stand upon, in gifts of understanding God prevents the paradigm of dialectic knowledge that reasons logically upon the assumption there are no absolutes and that pain is falsity and pleasure is the only truth.

The restrainer is equivalent to the seal of God upon Daniel - as a beloved (elect) member of Israel (God's people.) The position of unity in the field GF(8) in revelation is the spiritual seat (place) of the 24 elders and the 144,000 sealed saints. We see there are no sealed saints with the mark of the beast (or numbered 666) and none with the mark that are saved.

Daniel is interred in the lions den and we are reminded of two passages of the NT.

Joh 17:15 I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. (KJV)

1Pe 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: (KJV)

These two passages neatly reveal the spiritual trial Daniel was undergoing as an example for us. Under the seal of the king (c.f. the restrainer) Daniel's faith is tested with great tribulation - the king desires God to preserve Daniel through the evil surrounded by lions to devour him, and is willing that Daniel should not perish but go free. The law will not permit Daniel to be immediately freed, but Daniel must be preserved through the evil permitted by the king for the sake of his kingdom.

The king spent all night praying for Daniel fasting, without entertainment and sleep - a neat image of the prayer of Christ in the garden of Gethsemane as above. The king arises very early in the morning (c.f. Christ comes quickly, and the days are cut short to preserve flesh) to come to Daniel to immediately see if the test of lions is not too dire - that Daniel, (c.f. the Lord's people) perished or is preserved.

We see a neat picture of the second coming in the release of Daniel: The king represents Christ and God plays the part of the redeemer of Daniel, preserving him alive blameless. The "hour of temptation" that Daniel chose to continue in prayer within rather than compromise on his faith is different from the hour of tribulation when in the lions den: yet we are assured that if we do not succumb to temptation we should be armed well for the tribulation that comes after. God does not test those things for success that he has not built up: God's correcting authority does not act upon those that he chooses not to correct and redeem. God's correction is to salvation, not to be wasted on those that would certainly fail to be obedient.

The rulers that condemned Daniel are not judged, but are destroyed wholesale with their families - a simple picture of the division between those (fellowships = families) with the mark of the beast (the law putting the faithful to death (complete exclusion) with their signature and the kings own - i.e. the beast's) and Daniel whom is saved and sealed in tribulation (inside the den.) The men sought a judge like to themselves, after their own sinfulness of carnality (the number of the beasts name 666) and they represented only themselves in the full authority of the kingdom (having the name of the beast) as over all others.

The episode is one we must pay direct attention to.
