Daniel's Revelation Of Christ

The vision that Danisl saw of the man standing upon the river is clearly a vision of Christ - the striking similarity between the appearance of the man in Daniel's vision and the description of Christ by John in the opening of the book of revelation is obvious.

Dan 10:1 In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia a thing was revealed unto Daniel, whose name was called Belteshazzar; and the thing was true, but the time appointed was long: and he understood the thing, and had understanding of the vision.
Dan 10:2 In those days I Daniel was mourning three full weeks.
Dan 10:3 I ate no pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine in my mouth, neither did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled.
Dan 10:4 And in the four and twentieth day of the first month, as I was by the side of the great river, which is Hiddekel;
Dan 10:5 Then I lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and behold a certain man clothed in linen, whose loins were girded with fine gold of Uphaz:
Dan 10:6 His body also was like the beryl, and his face as the appearance of lightning, and his eyes as lamps of fire, and his arms and his feet like in color to polished brass, and the voice of his words like the voice of a multitude.
Dan 10:7 And I Daniel alone saw the vision: for the men that were with me saw not the vision; but a great quaking fell upon them, so that they fled to hide themselves.
Dan 10:8 Therefore I was left alone, and saw this great vision, and there remained no strength in me: for my comeliness was turned in me into corruption, and I retained no strength.
Dan 10:9 Yet heard I the voice of his words: and when I heard the voice of his words, then was I in a deep sleep on my face, and my face toward the ground.

What is worthy to note is the embedding of significate numbers in the opening of the chapter. Daniel was mourning three weeks (C.f. seven cycles or octals) In the twenty fourth day of the first month (C.F. twenty four automorphisms on eight seven cycles of each octal with one element fixed as unity.) These may help later in the passage when we come to interpret the periods of 1335 and 1290 days.

Daniel appears to embed these numbers for our benefit - truly they are part of the sealing up of the vision, we may estimate that weeks (seven cycles) are comprised of seven days, as alternative to "months" in the revelation text. This would appear to fit in well with the 70 weeks prophecy.

Three weeks would indicate the three automorphisms of each field GF(8) with its particular seven cycle, and the twenty four days peculiarly refer to the full set of seven cycles holding fixed the field GF(8) with only the constraint of a fixed unity. There is the sense that weeks are comprised of singleton elements within each seven cycle, (as it were the floating unity) and the twenty four days refer then to what we would conceive of "hours" in a day, or rather these 24 "days" are found in each of the elements of each of Daniel's three "weeks" - each element (day) of the three weeks, (a week is as it were one of three automorphisms of each field) - is from eight possible multipicative groups as GF(8)*.

So, in a week according to Daniel's account, has seven elements, (each a floating unity) each comprised of 24 "days" corresponding to the arrangements of seven cycles and automorphisms.

Then we would assume later in the text that "days" refers to automorphisms of a particular octal. Then, we would safely assume each year is composed of twelve months of 30 octals.

However everyone knows there are not eight days in a week, unless we reduce to the seven C7 groups over each octal that are traversed by the remaining eighth C7 group as we saw in the mystery of the seven churches and the seven angels in the opening chapter of revelation. Then it is safe to say that the eighth seven cycle may be considered a "sabbath" - that on the seventh day of each week one may rest in the spirit though yet moving in the eighth group, so in reducing the count to seven we find without trouble that 24 days reduces to 21 - three whole weeks as required.

Dan 10:10 And, behold, a hand touched me, which set me upon my knees and upon the palms of my hands.
Dan 10:11 And he said unto me, O Daniel, a man greatly beloved, understand the words that I speak unto thee, and stand upright: for unto thee am I now sent. And when he had spoken this word unto me, I stood trembling.
Dan 10:12 Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words.
Dan 10:13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.
Dan 10:14 Now I am come to make thee understand what shall befall thy people in the latter days: for yet the vision is for many days.
Dan 10:15 And when he had spoken such words unto me, I set my face toward the ground, and I became dumb.
Dan 10:16 And, behold, one like the similitude of the sons of men touched my lips: then I opened my mouth, and spoke, and said unto him that stood before me, O my lord, by the vision my sorrows are turned upon me, and I have retained no strength.
Dan 10:17 For how can the servant of this my lord talk with this my lord? for as for me, straightway there remained no strength in me, neither is there breath left in me.
Dan 10:18 Then there came again and touched me one like the appearance of a man, and he strengthened me,
Dan 10:19 And said, O man greatly beloved, fear not: peace be unto thee, be strong, yea, be strong. And when he had spoken unto me, I was strengthened, and said, Let my lord speak; for thou hast strengthened me.
Dan 10:20 Then said he, Knowest thou wherefore I come unto thee? and now will I return to fight with the prince of Persia: and when I am gone forth, lo, the prince of Greece shall come.
Dan 10:21 But I will show thee that which is noted in the Scripture of truth: and there is none that holdeth with me in these things, but Michael your prince.

Now we see that the "prince of persia" withstood the Lord 21 days - not an indicator of a lack of strength but more so an indicator that Daniel was visited as soon as the time was expedient. It would appear that the Lord (aided by Michael) was doing so more or less alone and that the limit of twenty one days is a measure of how long it took for the victory to be seen and tested, rather than a measure of the Lord's strength. Clearly, the Lord worked continually until it was time for Him to rest - and did so when the time was complete rather than merely the works. (We are effectively in "heaven-time" that was coincident with Daniel's period of mourning, and the Lord tarried in persia.)

Coincident as the local time and time in heaven was, Daniel's prayer and petition for understanding was heard and answered, and done so by God Himself.

All we need see at this moment is that Daniel's vision (Whatever it was, we shall see) is for the "latter days" and is a vision for "many days". We may assume there is some calculation to be explained: What we will see is surprising. Daniel clearly had a vision of Christ - it would make sense to assume that Daniel's vision and understanding concerned the triune nature of God. Daniel's strength had left him, he was weak, but he was strengthened as the vision was explained to him.

Now the vision (an abstraction of the trinity) was explained in prophetic form but the abstraction dos not match the historic fulfilment. In fact - it makes every sense for the prophecy not to be fulfilled - although Christ as "that prophet" has never issued a false prophecy. The kings of the north and south therefore are 100% true in predicted history, but the abstraction is not equal to the reality of the fulfilment- as Chrsit was deliberately warring to prevent it.
