The Strait Gate

First, a few verses;

Mat 7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
Mat 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. (KJV)

And from Luke,

Luk 13:23 Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them,
Luk 13:24 Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able. (KJV)

Paul described his position on the grace of God in the gospel as a "race". Whilst the Holy Spirit ministers grace to us it is a positive thing to excel under that grace - God does expect us to make progress in our repentance rather than to stagnate or plateau. In racing the requirements of grace to be transformed into the spiritual and behavioural image of Jesus Christ we show that we love God and obey His commandments.

Quite simply the strait gate may be likened to the interval or time difference between t1 and t2 wherein a fault or transgression needs redemption. We are commanded to repent, and slackness is not pleasing to God. When the time difference is short we are assured we are in good conscience before God, but when it is long we are yet sinners still.

The Holy Spirit prepares us for eternal life by conforming our behaviour to that of Jesus' own. When we have the Holy Spirit and are then in His company we find the strength to resist sin and obey God. We are then in that spiritual place where the redemption interval between t2 and t1 is short enough to be pleasing to God. Expecting to have the Holy Spirit with a long or indefinite interval when a person struggles with sin is a contradiction on pos(G~x) (see elsewhere in the metaphysics section) and therefore in that case a person is not predestinated. The Holy Spirit is given so that the fold of Christ, entered in through the narrow way or strait gate (the fold is His body or bride) is indwelt not just by Christ (made as sin for us) as stood in the narrow way between t2 and t1, but we ourselves enter in at a narrow gate under the predestination of the Holy Spirit. Too long an interval and broad is the way that many attempt to enter in at, which go to their destruction.

We must not only run the race but be obedient - grace is a standard as much as it is salvation - it must be understood that the standard is fixed and grace is at the same strength in every case. If you struggle with faults without improvement then you do not have the Holy Spirit. The proof that you have the Holy Spirit is that you are known by your fruits. You must have the correct God and the correct gospel - or else be zealous and accept correction willingly - consuming as much truth as you can. Simply stating that you are saved (and thus always saved) without being predestinated is evidence that you are a liar before God.

The action of grace is unchanging - the requirements of obedience includes the love of the truth, in everything we must be willing to be corrected. When we find the strength to repent and are conformed to Christ and have the presence of the Holy Spirit we enter into the kingdom of God in a fashion pleasing to God, rather than expecting forgiveness toward us on our faith alone - under grace that is become no more grace (under contradiction of pos(G~x)). Faith is necessary, but satan also believes in God as do demons. Predestination must be shown; not outwardly to others, but before God - and He chooses whom to predestinate. If you are unsure of yourself, you are in good company, prayer would be the answer!

As far as the standard for the width of the strait gate, (t2 - t1) if the Holy Spirit is present the gate is strait enough. Then grace is grace, and not of works and we reduce to the election under grace once more. While we were yet sinners, God chose us - and it is not revealed to us to whom God has given His spirit - the race is not over yet.

Of course, we have various criteria for election: That a believer holds true L(G) as well as repents swiftly enough for pos(G~x) to make sense: If we simply reduce to the criteria of L(G) only, then by implication L(G) is the essence of faith and in all things the gate is strait because the sovereignty of God is maximal. (God stated, "My strength is made perfect in weakness.")

There will be pages in the "Universality of Being" section on the Holy Spirit, but is suffices to show that the existence of such a being is possible if faith is able to be consistent - it is examined whether the communicability of correction from God to an individual is coherent so that faith may be also coherent (in us as delivered by God) and without fault. Logically, I found no counter argument to the posited existence of such a being (given the existence of God), whom I liken to the Holy Spirit. This would imply that L(G) is consistent.

Such a universal being that may reason God's truth to contingent beings in a manner that is readily understood fits the bill as Holy Spirit, or satisfies the conditions that it can be possible then for God to reciprocate and acknowledge such contingent individuals acceptable on the basis that they may be elected without inducing a fault in God.

For if a person under predestination will become as pleasing to God as His own Son Christ, the it is merely a matter of God's patience under grace for Him to gain many sons by adoption. Though even God's patience has its limits.

Faith then is what justifies a person under grace - Faith in the example of Jesus Christ. To render His example null is to blaspheme the Holy Ghost. A person can not be forgiven if they will not accept that the absolute standard is given in Christ, thus refusing correction and the strait gate - not just they that refuse every gate blaspheme. If there is no possible example or absolute in behaviour and faith, there is no gospel and no one stating such ever has forgiveness. In this manner the proper position of the Holy Spirit in the form of the decreasing interval of the strait gate (throughout eternal life), Christ as the perfect example of life in the same Holy Spirit and the Father whose laws are ridiculed and He Himself dismissed - they are all blasphemed when there is a fault found with the laws of God. To reject the law as pish and justify ones own sins is to blaspheme the Holy Ghost - doing so is to refuse correction and expect similarly a wider gate to enter in or a gate so wide every sinner escapes.

Now, we are not under law but under grace: - that said, the law has its place so that the temple of God will be filled by the election of those pleasing to God - sin is still very much a problem and faith without works of repentance is the widely trodden way, it is not as L(G) which acknowledges the sin of the believer under the laws of God. Under L(G), faith accepts God's sovereignty over every aspect of an individuals life.

Ensure you have the Holy Spirit, for then you have entered into the strait gate, and few there be that find it!
