The Restrainer

In the book 2nd Thessalonians the enigmatic passage mentioning the "Son of perdition" - that "Wicked" to be revealed (In the text the "W" is actually capitalised, very strange.) The text indicates that there is something that yet restrains the coming of this figure, (figure as in template of a man) also commonly referred to as "Antichrist". (Also capitalised.) Many ideas have been put forth for the identity of the restrainer, "only he who now letteth will let...". The identity appears shrouded by the text, being gender neutral and the grammar would indicate no specific relative, that identity of first or second or third person is not immediately deduced from the scripture.

Whilst many state the Holy Spirit is the restrainer, it is made sure from the previous page that the rule of Jesus Christ with "a rod of iron" over the nations is adequate restraint - but yet other identities such as Michael the archangel or even the biblical text itself opened in revelation are possibilities to be noted. However, there is a clear and distinctive relation in prophecy within the passage that shows in truth that by the Holy Spirit, the restrainer is clearly indicated in the text itself.

First aside, we note that the rapture doctrine is an invention of the devil. Pure and simple, if a person necessarily requires the rapture to escape the tribulation (for fear of accepting the mark of the beast) - they are 100% liable to be the very sort of individual that would gladly accept the mark. If there is no logical necessity for the doctrine to be correct, it can not be true doctrine for then there is no least in the kingdom of heaven that could resist the mark, and (all) men are failed creations that are irredeemable (those that have share in the resurrection - on them the second death has no power). When the rapture doctrine is held to be equal to the scripture, then as it is touted by those that hold their invention above the same God of scripture, and above all that can be worshiped (there being only one God) - it states that not only is God put to the test - it becomes the doctrine that entails the God rather than the God that entails the doctrine.

There is no rapture, fact. If a person absolutely has to be evacuated then they are a child of satan (that is deceived) and as they would otherwise certainly receive the mark, they have accepted false doctrine above all that is called God and all that is worshiped as God because they love the lie more than to serve God proper. The liars that spread the doctrine fill the template for "Son of perdition." exactly.

So, with reference to the text we begin to piece together the restrainer in a few simple observations.

2Th 2:1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,
2Th 2:2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
2Th 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
2Th 2:4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.
2Th 2:5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?
2Th 2:6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.
2Th 2:7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.
2Th 2:8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
2Th 2:9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
2Th 2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
2Th 2:11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:
2Th 2:12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. (KJV)

A brief history of the rapture doctrine will reveal that the doctrine originated with a young girl named Margaret MacDonald (You can read on Wikipedia, but they are perhaps a little tame.) and was picked up on by a John Darby and brought to the United States from England by him and began to be preached afterwards. Later, the scriptures also have been twisted to support the doctrine, such terms as "apostasia" being twisted from "apostasy" or "falling away" then to "departure" and to "rapture" and the like. Then, recently because the doctrine has become so easy to pick apart historically the historicity of the doctrine has been falsified by reading scripts supposedly from the early church but that actually have been written much later or from writers using the term "rapture" in other contexts - plainly using fallacies of equivocation.

Do you see it? We should not be shaken from our doctrine by spirit (MacDonald received the doctrine in a trance) by word, (The scriptures do not indicate the rapture - one taken and the other left is not rapture, but destruction of the one taken) and as by letter from the apostles, (for none of them taught the doctrine - it is a purely modern invention.).

The restrainer then is such that the doctrine arises and then the man of sin is now revealed - these three steps (which are "that which withholdeth") occur before his revealing - and now we reveal the son of perdition as the liar that preaches the pretribulation (or any other kind) of rapture doctrine.

He who restrains will do so until he be taken out of the way, for the evidence of the restraint is merely the causal gulf in history before these three stages of rapturist occultism show themselves forth as evidence of the coming of Christ by the same satanic three - spirit, word or epistle. (Perhaps three spirits as frogs?) The day of Christ is truly soon at hand but the rapture doctrine will lead you into the lake of fire - the falling away has occurred already, indeed the three stages of these liars' works over those in the doctrine's grip are now completed, the restraint is already completely removed and we may expect them to be in receipt of sudden destruction with the coming of the true Lord Jesus Christ. The Son of perdition is adequately revealed by the passage in a manner that does not teach the doctrine itself or give it credence too early - clearly certain is that this is a 2000 year old prophecy fulfilled in our time in astonishing detail and should send a chill down the spine of anyone still accepting fellowship in the church alongside such minions of satan.

Now the restraint is taken out of the way, we see that the elders that should be our sources of doctrine in our fellowships are retired or put out to pasture and we are left with young men up and coming from colleges that teach how to effectively spin the scripture and teach the doctrine in the full knowledge of the lie. The restrainer as removed indicates a modern (but older satanic) invention, the "mystery of iniquity" which is fulfilled in the three woes. He whom is "taken out of the way" are they whom should be our elders or teachers - that these sons of perdition should be revealed employing those three stages of deception, showing that in prophetic expectation the three (spirit, word, epistle) were "withheld" from the time of the epistles writing to today.

Returning to those sons of perdition, the Lord will destroy them with the spirit of His mouth - He will certainly show that the rapture is a lie (even logically as above) and with the brightness of His coming (There will be no mass evacuation but tribulation.) - these liars are headed to their eternal reward in hell for their deceits. Even those that say to Him "Lord, Lord - have we not prophecised in your name and done many great wonders" that fulfill completely the role of 2Thess Ch2:9 in the text given above will not escape - and of them that deceive others with the doctrine (whom deceive whilst actually believing the lie) it is true that they will perish also (as with the second death, irredeemable. c.f. 2Thess ch2:v12)

The equivalence between receiving the mark of the beast and with the holding of a false gospel (as if ready to escape the former) both result in apostacy - the second death of irredeemability is equivocated with the rejection of the truth - in this case in holding on to the rapture lie. They have no righteousness to be content in all their sufferings as was Paul, but are deluded by the seeming lack of action by God in the world today. The leaven has fully leavened the meal when God simply leaves the "children to rise up and play", and those that prefer their refuge in a lie to the path through the strait gate will face their due destruction.
